Roslyn Lodge

Waterpac Australia manufactured and installed the Nature Flow wastewater treatment system for Roslyn Lodge, an aged care facility managed by PresCare and located at Main Western Rd, Mount Tamborine in Queensland.

This system treats the wastewater from 5 septic tanks used to service the facility.  Wastewater travels through an above ground high flow media filter and sand filter.  It is disinfected using UV sterilization with a chlorine residual and is then dispersed via a shallow subsurface irrigation field of approx. 2400 square metres.

This system is successfully treating 11 000 litres of wastewater per day with the following average results:  BOD <10, Suspended Solids <10, Dissolved Oxygen 7 and pH 7.

At this time there is no requirement for Nitrogen or Phosphorus testing as these compounds are effectively harvested through the dispersal field which is heavily planted with kikuyu grass.

Footprint is approx. 10 metres wide by 20 metres long.

Ken Howatson from PresCare states:

"The quality of the actual treatment plant is excellent and it works very well…I have been extremely happy with the project outcome and…with the support [from Waterpac Australia Pty Ltd] in our dealings with the relevant authorities such as councils and the EPA."
