The Nature Flow® UV Water Treatment System used by O’Reilly’s Rainforest Guesthouse was installed in 1998 to improve the quality of the resort’s water supply.

The resort’s water supply is drawn from a spring located high in the mountains of Lamington National Park. The spring water is pumped to holding tanks where it is then gravity fed through backwashable dual multi-media pressure filters. This filtered water then flows through a Nature Flow® dual 40 watt manifolded UV system and is pressure fed to the resort.

This system was installed with minimal disruption to the surrounding environment and without disruption to resort activities.

The system has an emergency stop in place to protect water supply in the event of a UV lamp failure (UV lamps are a consumable component – annual replacement). This emergency stop has a manual over-ride with emergency chlorination disinfection to enable uninterrupted water supply to the resort. In addition to this feature, an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) of 6 hours is also provided for back-up protection in the event of power loss (eg storms etc).

This Nature Flow® Water Treatment System has the capacity to purify 10 000 litres per hour providing effective and efficient water treatment in an environmentally sensitive location. (O’Reilly’s Rainforest Guesthouse is located within the World Heritage listed Lamington National Park.)
