Print Friendly

These sewerage treatment systems are designed for installations on islands or other sites where access prohibits the use of concrete tanks. They have been installed on Moreton Island (hence the name) and Fraser Island.

A standard domestic installation consists of the following:

  • Poly septic tanks in combination – this will be dependent on individual site requirements
    • 3 x 3 000 litres
    • 2 x 3 000 litres and 1 x 2 000 litres
    • 2 x 3 000 litres and 1 x 1 000 litres
  • Risers if required. Site specific.
  • 1 x sand media filter
  • Disposal field according to local authority requirements. Generally, subsurface irrigation will be required. A quote for subsurface irrigation can be obtained from Waterpac Plumbing after a site inspection as each installation is different.

Owners are responsible for:

  • Plumbing connection from house to HSTP
  • Power to be supplied in the form of a double weather proof GPO to be located at HSTP. Standard system is for 240 volt however solar and 24 volt options are available.

Power usage for a standard installation:

  • 2 x pumps (wattage of pumps used is site specific)
  • 1 x UV globe at 40 watts
  • 1 x control box at 10 watts

Note:  Power consumption has been calculated using manufacturer's supplied energy ratings.  No allowance has been made for start-up consumption.  Energy consumption may vary depending on energy source and other variances.
